A: BAR. Feather condition does not appear much improved since last catch. The one bad tail feather may need pulled under anesthesia, ultimately. May need discuss other solutions

A: BAR. Bird is constantly scrapping and is a decent body weight while still gaining, so it's advised we drop her food just so we're not wasting it. The IB feathers on her wings look to be growing well and normal. The IB feathers on her tail are not doing as well. It's unclear if this is because she's not preening or if they're not growing properly. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a good record on which feathers were in what state because the bird started getting very impatient and I had to grab the bird to keep control of her. I've added pictures we were able to take quickly just for some reference.

Initial treatment: 100mg DMSA PO + 0.70cc CaEDTA + 1/4 tablet terbinafine + 120cc LRS SQ + 60cc LRS PO. Removed one ingrown feather from tail. Placed in cage in the back room and dropped 74g fish

A: Likely had a WNV infection based on current state of feathers. Looks like several have pinched off and tried to regrow abnormally. Amount of missing feathers and the poor condition on the remaining ones are likely the cause of the bird's inability to fly. No fractures or other injuries seen. May benefit from an abx as part of supportive care but will not likely benefit from WNV protocol as does not appear to be an active infection.

P: Rx DMSA BID for 5d. Rx CaEDTA for 5d. Recheck blood, including lead in 7d. Rx terbinafine. Rx Excede. Give SQ fluids SID while on CaEDTA/DMSA. Perform more detailed feather check/documentation and remove additional ingrown feathers with tomorrow's AM care. Monitor for feather growth and for how feathers are developing. Collect fecal. Vet check when AD back on 10/23
